Ribble Valley Raynet are now looking at using APRS to further enhance the service we can provide. APRS gives us the ability to track our operatives using GPS satellite tracking, allowing the command centre to be able to precisely locate an operator on an OS map to 5m accuracy. From a response point of view this allows us to react quickly and accurately to a given situation.

We now have a number of volunteers using the APRS system and these can be seen and tracked on www.aprs.fi .
